SENIOR ADULTS

We are known as the Pace Setters. A Pace Setter is a pace-maker, “one who sets the pace in a race’’. The race that we are in is a race to serve the Lord and others, and that is what we strive to accomplish. Ministry is part of our DNA and we love to reach out to people in their time of need, whether it is at home, state or internationally. We have giving people who give their time, prayers and resources in sharing the love of Jesus.

Seniors love fellowship, therefore we plan ways to accomplish that. The second Tuesday of every month our seniors meet for a pot-luck lunch from 11:30 – 12:15. We have programs from 12:15 -1:00. They consists of speakers, music programs, etc.

The first Thursday of each month our Seniors enjoy getting together for snacks at 6:00 pm, and at 6:30 pm we play games like Mexican Train Dominoes and Rook. The competition is fierce and the fun is only surpassed by the fellowship that is enjoyed by all.

Another activity that we enjoy is to eat out in area restaurants. Two of our favorites are Charlotte’s Café & Pie Shop and “Smoking Buns."

Our seniors also participate in mission activities. We sponsor a Chili Cook-Off to raise funds for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. We sponsor the Men’s Cake Bake-Off to raise funds for our Youth Mission Trips.

We participate in Mission Dignity Ministry of the S.B.C.  This ministry raises money for retired pastors and their widows who through their years of service were not able to contribute much, if any, to their retirement.

The Operation Christmas Child is a ministry we participate in which started 13 years ago in a Sr. Adult Sunday School Class, and today it involves the whole church .

We also take missions trips to the Arkansas Baptist Children Homes to deliver supplies. Our seniors are also involved in prayer ministries, nursing homes, funerals (providing a meal) and hospitals. Providing fruit baskets, food, and other needed items is a vital part of our ministry.
